TEHRAN August (Shana)--Gas injection into oil fields run by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) during the first four months of Iran�s calendar year (which started on March 21) has increased by 27 percent, a gas official said.
�Abdol-Hossein Koutaki said 4.5 bcm of gas was injected into the fields for enhancing oil recovery.



He said 900 mcm was injected into Karanj-Parsi field, 380 mcm to Koupal field and 3.3 bcm to Aghajari field.
Iran injects into gas fields in order to increase recovery from them.

Gas injection is a method applied to mature fields.
