Key reformist politician asks UN to pursue payback of $6bln compensation to Gaza
TEHRAN (FNA)- An influential reformist politician called on the United Nations to pursue the paying back of several billions of dollars in compensation to the people of Gaza.
"The UN should make more efforts to retrieve the rights of the Palestinians and pay back the 6-billion-dollar worth of losses (caused by the Israeli regime in the recent war)," Rotating Head of the Reformist Front's Coordination Council Mostafa Kavakebian said in a meeting with UN Chief's Representative in Iran Garry Lewis on Wednesday.

He called on the UN to adopt firmer stances against the Zionist regime, and said, "Over 1,800 Palestinians, including 405 children, have fallen victim to the Zionist usurper regime."

The senior reformist said establishing ceasefire in Gaza is not enough and the siege of Gaza should be completely lifted and the Rafah crossing be opened to pave the way for the dispatch of foodstuff and medicine to help treat the injured.

"We saw that the Zionist regime did not have mercy even on UN Headquarters and killed the people there," Kavakebian said, adding, "Hence, we expected the UN secretary general to take stronger and firmer actions against such incidents."

Israel has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 30 consecutive days, killing nearly 1,900 people and injuring more than 11,000 others.

Four out of every five Palestinians killed during Israel's ongoing military offensive in Gaza have been civilians, including dozens of women and children.

Ask yourself - why did israel start this war? I would kill also to protect my family. If my neigbour would advertise he doesn't recognize my existance, and would fire rockets at me, I would do my very best to kill him.
It's complete nonsense to distinguishe between 'civilians' and 'millitary' - the people get the government they deserve. Ik they want Hamas, they automaticcaly accept the risk of sudden death!
