TEHRAN, Aug. 09 (MNA) Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare predicts employment rate for the current year to be 2.5 per cent, a positive rate after so long.

Ali Rabiei said that by 2021 the country should create 10.5 million new jobs. Increasing stable job positions is an important item in governments agenda for the current year, he added, and predicted the employment growth rate to be 2.5 per cent, and 5 per cent by next two years.

However, Rabiei admitted that to attain such growth rate requires good cooperation and coordination by other organizations and government bodies involved in youth employment.

On the current employment conditions, Rabiei said that the country experienced negative job growth rate. To tackle this problem, the economy should create 10.5 million jobs by the year 2021; addressing poverty and unemployment in other provinces rather than Tehran would prove effective, he added.
