Gas delivery to power plants saves liquid fuel
TEHRAN August 16 (Shana)--A 40-percent increase in natural gas delivery to power plants has saved 10 to 15 billion liters of liquid fuel, a Petroleum Ministry official said.
Mansour Moazzami said the gas delivered to the power plants during the first four months of the current calendar year, which started on March 21, was up 40 percent.

The official said the saved liquid fuel could be exported.

Iranian power plants use of gas as fuel will reduce maintenance costs by more than 30 percent.

Irans Petroleum Ministry has instructed power plants to switch to natural gas by March 2016, managing-director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said recently.

Mostafa Kaskhouli said the power plants shift from liquid fuel to natural gas will save fuel waste.

Kashkouli said 250 million liters of oil products is being consumed in the country every day.
