Three senior Hamas military commanders in the Gaza Strip were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Thursday, Reuters said, citing the Islamist group. It named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah. The Israeli military have not immediately commented on the attack, which would be the killing of the most senior Hamas men since Israel launched its offensive on Gaza six week ago. The Israeli aircraft carried out 20 assaults in Gaza on Thursday.
