Iran, Italy foreign ministers set to talk in Rome
Rome, Sept 3, IRNA Iran?s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is scheduled to meet with his Italian counterpart Federica Mogherini here on Wednesday.
He arrived here today upon the invitation of Italy?s foreign minister to discuss issues of mutual interest including Iran?s nuclear program and regional developments with Italian officials.

Zarif and his accompanying delegation started their three-nation tour of Europe on Monday.

They arrived in Belgian capital city, Brussels, early Monday morning for talks with EU outgoing foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton.

Zarif and Ashton had a working lunch together during which they evaluated the process of the negotiations to achieve an agreement on ways of advancing nuclear negotiations.

The meeting was the first between Zarif and Ashton after the end of the Vienna-6 nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 which were held July 2-19.

In the second leg of the tour, the Iranian foreign minister held talks with his counterpart as well as prime minister in Luxemburg.

During the meetings, he stressed the need for all world countries to combine efforts to do away with radicalism and terrorism.

Mogherini is to take over as European Union foreign policy chief as of November.

She has regarded ways of settling Iran?s nuclear issue with a positive attitude and believes things in the Middle East will change drastically after a final solution is worked out between Iran and the 5+1.
