Astana, Kazakhstan, Sept 8, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani arrived in capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana, minutes ago on the first leg of his five-day tour which will take him to Tajikistan.
Rouhani is to be accorded welcome by his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev in the presidential palace.
A high-ranking political and economic delegation, including a number of cabinet ministers, are accompanying the president in his first visit to Kazakhstan since he took office in August 2013.
Rouhani is also scheduled to participate and deliver a speech in a joint meeting of chambers of commerce of Iran and Kazakhstan.
Iran and Kazakhstan are scheduled to sign several agreements on economic cooperation.
President Rouhani is then due to leave Kazakhstan for Dushanbe, Tajikistan where the 14th meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization is due to be held.
