IME chief denies non-standard transactions
TEHRAN Sept 16 (Shana)--Managing director of Irans Mercantile Exchange (IME) Hosain Panahian denied reports pertaining to trade and exports of non-standard bitumen by Mercantile Exchange.
In statements to Shana, Panahian said IME fully monitors and supervises transactions made through its channels, adding all the commodities are offered for trade in IME enjoy national standards.


All the transactions taken place in IME are subject to existing laws and by-laws of the country so all the news related to trade of non-standard bitumen and their export through IME are incorrect, Panahian said noting all the transactions are done in IME are completely transparent.

Iran Mercantile Exchange was established on September 20, 2007 in accordance with the article 95 of the new law of the Securities Market of the Islamic Republic of Iran and following the merger of the agricultural and metal exchanges of Tehran.

The merger marked a new chapter in Iran capital market providing endless trading opportunities for the clients in and out of the country.

Non-standard bitumen has been traded through channels other than IME, Panahian concluded.
