A number of poachers attacked an environmental monitoring station in Qomishloo National Park with Molotov cocktail bombs and set it on fire.
The head of the Environmental Protection Squad in Isfahan said the two rangers assigned to the station were chasing the poachers at the time of the attack. He added that two motorcycles were stolen.
The Mehr News Agency reports that on Thursday September 18, the fire was put out by firefighters and they are now trying to identify the assailants.
e incident is a sign of the growing aggression as poachers attack environmental officials. Conservation authorities have also alleged that the recent rash of fires in National Golestan Park was the work of poachers.
