Tehran, Sept 29, IRNA - Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hamid Reza Araqi said here on Monday that several countries, the Europeans in particular, have voiced their willingness to import gas from Iran as sanctions ease against the Islamic Republic.
Speaking in a press conference, Araqi put the country's daily gas production at 500 million cubic meters.
Some 189 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in the country during the last Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2014), he said.
Araqi predicted that the figure could increase to 330 billion cubic meters by the next three years.
So far, India, Pakistan and several European countries have voiced their readiness to import gas from Iran as the world's top gas reserves holder.
