Tehran, Oct 7, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday attended a ceremony held in Tehran University to mark the official beginning of the new academic year.
In the ceremony, the president will reward students who achieved top tanks in the annual Iranian university entrance exam.
Iran has a large network of private, public, and state affiliated universities with degrees in higher education.

The state-run universities of Iran are under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (for non-medical universities) and Ministry of Health and Medical Education (for medical schools).
