Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi prov, Oct 9, IRNA Direct flights between Iran and Kyrgyzstan will resume after an 8-year interval from Mashhad to Bishkek and vice versa as of October 20.
The flight will be once a week on Tuesdays from Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Chairman of the board of directors of Iranian Yas Toos Airline Mohsen Karimi Tabasi said.
Karimi Tabasi said that resumption of the flight came after President Hassan Rouhani made such a demand during his recent visit to Kyrgyzstan and efforts made by Iranian ambassador to Bishkek in this regard.
The aim is to make better use of potentials for economic cooperation between the two countries and to attract tourists, Karimi Tabasi said.
He said that Iranian airlines will carry seven flights a week in the future.
