Iran, Pakistan agree to step up fight against terrorism
Geneva, Oct 14, IRNA Iran's parliament speaker and chairman of the Pakistani senate in a meeting on Tuesday agreed that the two countries should step up fight against terrorism.

Ali Larijani and Seyyed Nayyer Bokhari referred to regional developments and stressed that terrorism is a real challenge against regional peace and stability.

During this meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting, Larijani called on Islamabad to tighten border controls to prevent infiltration of terrorist groups into Iran.

He called for close and regular consultations between Iran and Pakistan as two important and influential countries on regional developments and the Muslim world, and said, "The two countries cooperation will leave great effects on the improvement of their trade and economic relations."

Bokhari, for his part, referred to the age-old and close relations between Tehran and Islamabad, and said Pakistan is seriously resolved to fight outlaws along its borders with Iran and the recent terrorist attack will leave no impact on the friendly ties between the two countries.
