Iran's exports to Iraq hit $13b last year

Tehran, Oct 19, IRNA Iran's exports to Iraq reached 13 billion dollars last year, but it has the capacity to hit $25 billion a year, the secretary of Iran-Iraq Economic Cooperation Commission Rostam Qasemi said on Sunday.
Addressing the 40th meeting of representatives of Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Qasemi said that currently there is no limits for exports to the neighboring state and Iranian tradesmen can undertake activities in field.
Recalling presence of ISIL in Iraq, he noted that the issue has created tension in the Iraqi market, registering a drop in the Iraqi imports down by 40 percent.

He said that Iran's construction materials export to Iraq has also reduced.

Issuance of visas for nationals of the two countries is likely to be removed, Qasemi said, noting that some 1,700,000 Iraqis visited Iran last year which is anticipated to reach over three million should the visa formality is eliminated.
