Asgarowladi calls for permanent handicraft exhibitions in China

Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA Chairman of Iran-China Joint Chamber Assadollah Asgarowladi here Tuesday said in order to improve export conditions Iran should set up permanent and mobile exhibitions in Chinese cities.


 
Speaking at a session held to examine Irans export opportunities in China in the field of handicrafts and affiliated industries, Asgarowladi said in no country in the world banking interest rates are two digits, adding that in most countries the rate is a single digit.


He said bank interest rates for exports are between 5 and 7 percent in China, 2 in Europe and 1 in Japan.

He further remarked that five stable exhibitions should be held in major Chinese cities and a number of mobile ones in other cities of that country in order to present Iranian handicrafts.

He said the 1.4 billion population of China are not familiar with Iranian handicrafts but it should be known that at least 400 million are seeking handicrafts of Iran.

We have 2700 years background in handicrafts but at present we are new born in export of handicrafts.

Pointing to the volume of exports in the current year, Asgarowladi said in the first six months of the year (started on March 21) exports amounted to $23 billion, stressing that efforts are aimed at increasing the figure to over $50 billion by the yearend.

Out of the total exports about 35% were petrochemicals and 25% gas condensates, he further remarked.
