Iran football 7-a-side team claims Asian Para Games title
NCHEON (Tasnim) Iran's football 7-a-side team defeated Japan in the final match of the 2014 Asian Para Games on Thursday.
The Iranian outfit demolished Japan 5-0 at the Namdong Asiad Rugby Field in Incheon.


China tops medal tally with 159 medals, followed by South Korea (67), Japan (37) and Iran (35).

Iran has previously won 25 gold medals in the games.

Vahid Keshtkar claimed a gold medal in the men's 400 m freestyle S13.

Erfan Hosseini won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F1213.

Sareh Javanmardi earned the gold medal in the Mixed 50 meter pistol SH1.

Discus thrower Alireza Mokhtari clinched a gold medal in the mens F51/52/53.

Peyman Nasiri won the gold medal of the Men's 1,500m T20 final.

Sareh Javanmardi claimed a gold medal in the Women's P2-10m Air Pistol-SH1.

Mohammad Alvanpour clinched a gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw - F55/56.

Powerlifter Amir Jafari Arangah seized the gold medal in the Men's -59kg.

Mahnaz Amini claimed a gold medal in the Women's Shot Put - F57.

Younes Seifipour won a gold medal in the Men's Shot Put - F32.

Alireza Mokhtari clinched a gold medal in the Shot Put - F53/54.

Mahnaz Amini grabbed a gold medal in the Women's Javelin Throw - F57.

Danial Souraniyan won a gold medal in the Men's Shot Put - F35/36.

Sadegh Beit Sayah claimed a gold medal in the Men's Discus Throw - F41.

Irans football 5-a-side won the title of the 2014 Asia Para Games.

Mohammadali Malekpour earned the gold medal in the Men's Discus Throw - F54/55.

Sajad Mohammadian seized a gold medal in the Men's Shot Put - F42.

Mohammad Khalvandi bagged a gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw - F57.

Powerlifter Hamed Solhipour seized a gold medal in the Men's -88kg.

Iran finished in the first place in the Mixed Team Compound Open.

The 2014 Asian Para Games started on October 18 in Incheon, South Korea and will last until 24. The games feature around 5,000 athletes competing across 23 sports.
