TEHRAN (Tasnim) - An international friendly match between Iran and Kenya football teams has been called off, president of the Iranian Football Federation(IFF) Ali Kaffashian said on Saturday.
The match has been cancelled since the Kenya Football Federations has demanded $50,000 in cash and travel as well as accommodation costs associated with the trip to Tehran, Kaffashian said.
IFF is going to find an African team as a replacement for Kenya.
Iran, which is handled by former Real Madrid and Portugal head coach Carlos Quieroz, is preparing itself for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
Team Melli has been pitted against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain in Group C of the tournament.
The competition will be held in Australia from January 9 to 31.
