TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Iranian Helicopter Company (IHC) announced on Wednesday that the country has purchased a number of US-made helicopters and the training courses to operate the choppers have already been completed. The four helicopters purchased from the US are currently in operation and the training courses relating to working with them have been completed, IHC Managing Director Mahmoud Azin told the Tasnim News Agency at the 20th International Exhibition of Press and News Agencies in Tehran.
He also commented on the overhaul and maintenance of the helicopters inside Iran, saying, We have no problem in repairing, maintaining and supplying the spare parts of the R44 helicopters.
The Iranian official also emphasized that the IHC is currently in talks with foreign companies to purchase modern helicopters for training pilots in Iran.
The IHC provides aerial services to applicants in accordance with the standards set by Irans Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
It owns about 35 helicopters of different types, such as Lama, Aerospatiale Alouette III, Ecureuil B2 and B3 Puma, and Bell 212 and 205.
