TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Iranian foreign ministry official referred to the recent remarks made by Bahrains foreign minister against Tehran as an instance of the country's effort to distract world public opinion from its own oppressive moves.
The informed official said that the Manama regime itself is the one accused of what the Bahraini foreign minister has attributed to Iran.
The official said the ceremonial presence of some countries in the US-led anti-ISIL coalition will not make the world public opinion forget these countries' role in supporting the terrorist group and their oppression of their own people.
Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has recently accused Iran in a post in his Twitter account of being a state (that) occupies the lands of others and terrorize(s) and kill(s) people.
He asserted that (If) Iran wants to be part of the solution in the region, it has to stop terrorism peoples of the region and its agents, and withdraw from the states and islands it occupies.
Bahrain is part of a US-led coalition purportedly formed to fight the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
This is while Bahrain and a number of other regional countries have long been accused of supporting terrorism.
Moreover, Bahrains ruling Al Khalifa regime has been oppressing the people of the country who demand the ouster of the regime.
Over the past years, the Saudi-backed Manama regime has put hundreds of political activists behind bars as part of its oppressive measures to stifle anti-government protests.
Scores of people have been killed and hundreds of others injured in the crackdown on peaceful rallies.
