Five-fold increase in foreign investment demands in Iran

Hamedan, Nov 19, IRNA Deputy Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Mohammad Khazaei says demands of creditable world companies for making investment in Iran increased by five folds in the past year.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Center for Investment Services of Hamedan, Khazaei further remarked that creditable foreign companies, Latin American and European delegations, and Arab countries are interested in making investment in Iran.
Stressing that the trend of trade in the country should move towards investment, the official said paying attention to this issue will result in reproduction of wealth and investment and will cause the cycle to move.

Emphasizing that Hamedan Province is capable of turning into an economic hub in the field of tourism, agriculture and industry, he said the province can become a powerful terminal for transfer of contact, establishment of link with other western and southwestern cities as well as western neighboring countries.

He said economic development of Hamedan will be realized if capacities are refreshed through paying attention to investment, strengthening foreign investors and bringing in foreign funds.

The official said attraction of foreign investment will lead to orientation of research and technology in the country and will give shape to political relations.

Khazaei who is also head of Iran Center for Investment Services and Economic and Technical Assistance said study of the reasons behind success of the emerging and advanced economies in China, Brazil and a number of other countries reveal that encouragement of foreign investors and removing impediments on their way has been effective in their success.

He said one of the conditions for the success in absorbing foreign investment, in addition to proper regulations, is preparing the ground and providing suitable financial transfer system and paying attention to foreign investment.
