TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran Football Federation (IFF) issued an announcement condemning the Israeli armys raiding and searching of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) headquarters in Jerusalem (al-Quds).
On Monday, an Israeli army force broke into the PFAs headquarters located in the town of ar-Ram, north of Jerusalem, searched it and assaulted its employees.
In a statement, the IFF said, Yet, we have not forgotten Israels attacks on the oppressed and defenseless people in the Gaza Strip. Attacking on the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) headquarters is another violation of international laws."
"It contradicts the spirit of football, the statement added.
Blatter subsequently sent a letter of condemnation to PFAs President, Jibril Rajoub, condemning the Israeli attack and describing it as terrible.
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa also condemned the incident.
