Islamabad, Nov 30, IRNA Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday afternoon that Islamabad is working on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline plan.
Nawaz Sharif, by underlining the dire need of his country to energy, said completion of Iran gas pipeline plan is an effective step toward decreasing shortage of energy in Pakistan.
Pakistan Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan had said on Friday that construction plan of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is to be completed during the current government of Islamabad.
Pakistan has recently signed a 3-billion dollar contract with China to construct a gas pipeline from Port of Gwadar in Baluchistan province of Pakistan to Navabshah (final destination of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline plan).
He also said that after completion of the plan and removing a number of existing obstacles on its way, the pipeline will be continued from Gwadar Port to be connected to Iran's built pipeline in its territory.
