Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA - Algerian Minister of Communication Hamid Grine on Tuesday hailed Iran's positive role in the Islamic World and the region.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of the second day of the 10th Islamic Confrence of Information Ministers.
Iran has a key role in resolving challenges faced by the Islamic countries, the official added.
Urging Muslim states to form a media coalition to resolve the existing disputes, he reiterated that Iran has been always a pioneer in resolution of Muslims' issues.
Grine noted that Islamic media should have a united approach to depict real Islam to the world.
ICIM experts meeting kicked off Monday morning.
The two-day meeting aims to help consolidate unity and present a proper image of Islam and the Muslim states.
The ministerial session will be held on December 3-4.
The motto of the event is 'Media Convergence for Establishment of Peace and Calm in Islamic World'.
