Roots of terrorism generated from justice absence: Palestine envoy

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA - Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran, Salah Zawawi said the roots of terrorism are generated from absence of justice, confiscation of human and national rights using utmost criminal practices against peaceful nations.
Addressing a ceremony on the occasion of Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People, he praised Iran's firm stand towards Palestinians' just cause and human tragedy since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in the country.
Condemning the Zionists' atrocities in Gaza, he said the magnitude of the carnage, terror and destruction continue to weigh heavily, affecting every aspect of life.

Over 2,000 have been killed among them 500 children and 300 women, he said, regretting that more than 11,000 were also injured including 3,000 children.

More than half a million people have been displaced and left homeless while thousands of homes have been destroyed or damaged, Zawawi noted.

In the course of attacks on the Gazans, 75 hospitals and clinics were damaged while 23 health personnel were killed and 83 others injured, he further announced.

Appreciating those countries that have recognized Palestine as an independent state, he expressed hope that the United Nations would compel the occupying power to withdraw its forces from the occupied lands.
