British lawmaker: Embassy shutdown in Iran damaging UK ties with Iran
TEHRAN (ISNA)- British Conservative Party Politician Richard Bacon said the UK is damaging the future of its ties with Iran with shutting down its embassy in Tehran.
"The embassy was scheduled to open on August 28 which was cancelled by the British Foreign Ministry. I am unhappy with this and I wanted that the embassy would reopen on the exact date. It should be noted that embassies are to settle diplomatic problems of countries. The British government is damaging the future of its ties with Iran with shutting down its embassy in Tehran and given that most west European countries have embassy in Iran," Bacon who is Deputy Head of Iran-UK Parliamentary Friendship Group said.

He also said he had a meeting with British Labor Party Politician Jack Straw and Prime Minister David Cameron during which Straw and I stressed that the UK government should reopen its embassy in Tehran as soon as possible.

He also referred to the issue of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and said fighting the terrorist group needs Muslims' coalition comprising of Iran, Indonesia and Arab states which can be supported western states in terms of financial aid and weapons.
