Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA Agriculture Minister of Kazakhstan Assylzhan Mamytbekov in a meeting with Iranian Agriculture Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati called for bilateral cooperation in the field of Irans experience especially with regard to horticulture development.
Hojjati who is in Astana to represent Iran in the 13th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit met and conferred with the Kazakh agriculture minister on Tuesday morning.
During the meeting the two ministers discussed and exchanged views on putting the agreements signed between Iran and Kazakhstan into effect.
In addition, by referring to his countrys intention to implement projects for the development of agriculture research centers and development of irrigation, the Kazakh minister expressed hope that through transfer of expertise from Iran the said projects will make progress.
Meanwhile, Hojjati announced Irans readiness for rendering assistance to Kazakhstan in the said areas and presented a report on poultry and aquatic industry in Iran which was warmly welcomed by the Kazakh side.
During the meeting it was decided that Mamytbekov pay a visit to Iran in a near future to closely become acquainted with capacities available for bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience in this regard.
The two ministers also reached agreement on increase in trade of agriculture products, trans-territorial agriculture, acceleration of signing of agreements for plant and livestock sanitation and exchange of specialized delegations.
With regard to the highly constructive interactions between the two countries in the past year, upon proposal of Irans agricultural jihad minister each of the two parties will appoint a special representative for supervision and operation of the joint activities.
Hojjati has already met with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and is scheduled to address the SCO session.
