TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran plans to hold special tour for tourism technical media, investors, travel agency operators and hoteliers of China, Germany and Sweden to invite more visitors from the countries, said Director General of Iran's Marketing and Tourism Development Organization Mohammad Kazem Khaledi.
The tour focusing on showing attractions in Iranian deserts is scheduled for mid February.
It was scheduled for German visitors three months ago whose news had good reflections in German media.
The second tour is scheduled for February 12-15 to be attended by tourism technical media, tour operators, investors and hoteliers of the three countries.
Germany and China are Iranian target markets with considerable tourism potentials. Sweden holds considerable potentials in terms of sending visitors. It borders Italy, Germany, Austria and France and has friendly relations with European countries.
Director General of Tehran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization Rajabali Khosroabadi has already said that the number of foreign visitors in Tehran during the current Iranian calendar year (stated on March 21) rose by 270 percent comparing to similar period last year.
The number of tickets sold for Tehran Museum rose by 1.5 times comparing to similar period last year, he said.
Manager of an American tourism company who has already arrived in Iran by Golden Eagle Danube Express said a group of tourists from the US would visit Iran in 2015.
He has already brought members of Metropolitan Museum of Art to Iran.
"I came by the train to try this kind of trip. Because Americans plan to visit Iran by the train in the near future," he said.
"We have made planning for Americans' visit to Iran. Therefore, we need to investigate all conditions and make planning for the project to be carried out exactly and properly."
Tourists from Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Denmark, Britain, Australia, Spain, Singapore and Turkey have already arrived in Iran in two 78-member groups via the train.
They visited historical and religious sites of Tabriz, Zanjan, Yazd, Isfahan, Shiraz and Tehran and then flew back to Istanbul from Tehran.

The countrys architecture, painting, pottery, food, wildlife, beautifully diverse geography, and its welcoming people have always made Iran one of the most favorable tourist destinations in the world.
However, during the past two years, Iran has been receiving an increasing number of tourists from all over the world.
