TEHRAN Dec 31 (Shana)--Iran will become an exporter of gasoline when its Persian Gulf Star Refinery becomes operational next year, managing-director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said.
Nasser Sajjadi said the refinery is expected to start up in 2016, adding that Iran can export fuel oil and kerosene.
He said Iran can make plans for exporting fuel oil to Afghanistan which has no refineries and no production. Iran has already rationed gasoline distribution and encourages compressed natural gas (CNG) as alternative to petrol.
