UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash is reported to have hailed Iran's role in the fight against "terrorism and extremism" in the region.
Iran'sFars news agencyreported that Gargash stressed, during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Middle Eastern Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Wednesday, "on the excellent bilateral relations between Tehran and Abu Dhabi", saying that the fight against terrorism and extremism in the region is very important.
Farspointed out that Gargash appreciated Iran's role in the fight against "the ominous phenomenon of terrorism", stressing that his country supports the fight against terrorism and extremism.
Iran and the UAE have agreed to form a supreme joint committee during the first half of 2015 in Tehran, it is reported.
The agency reported that Abdollahian hailed Abu Dhabi's interest in regional developments and the Islamic Republic's role in counter-terrorism. He stressed that the solutions to regional problems like Syria, Libya and Bahrain are purely political.
