Rafsanjani suggests bank assets be spent on tackling unemployment problem

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsajani in Tehran on Monday suggested bank cash to be spent on campaign against unemployment.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, Ali Rabiee.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani said if the bank cash is spent properly and in favor of economy and development will help greatly push forward economy and deal with unemployment.

He said using domestic asset and the capacity of foreign policy will be the main pre-condition for employment and production.

He added that in the construction era, in light of benefiting from proper foreign policy and cooperating with the parliament, many infrastructural projects were implemented through domestic resources and loans.

'Each Iranian citizen is entitled to having a job, education, housing and medication without any concern and in durable security,' he added.

He said taking cooperatives' role in economy for granted and failure to implement general policies of the Article 44 of the Constitution properly will be tantamount to rise in the unemployment rate.

Had the income gained out of privatization, as envisaged by general policies of the Constitution, been spent properly and had privatization been real, the private and cooperatives sectors would have developed and economy would have grown with the unemployment rate becoming one digit in the construction era.
