TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran would export near five million dollars of caviar in the current Iranian calendar year, (which ends on March 20, 2015), adding that the country has cultivated 2.5 tons of caviar in the period, said Head of Iranian Fisheries Organization Hassan Salehi.
"Given the price of $2400 per each kilogram of caviar, we will export $4.800.000 of the product this year," he said.

He also said Iran is producing more caviar fish comparing to last year, as expressing the hope that the country would increase caviar fish production by 60 percent this year comparing to last year.

Iran made 1.5 ton of caviar last year, and the amount is expected to hit 2.5 ton this year, he said, adding it is expected that two tons of caviar would be exported to European countries, Caspian State and Persian Gulf neighboring states, the US and certain countries which are client for the product.
