Qom, Jan 12, IRNA Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi said on Sunday that wisdom requires Muslims of all sects to respect sanctities of each other.
The grand ayatollah who is a spiritual guide for many Shiite Muslims, made the remarks in a meeting here with the visiting Chairman of Lebanon Assembly of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Ahmad Al Zain.
Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi regretted divisive moves made by certain extremist groups noting that vigilance of Muslims would defuse those acts.
He stressed that continuation of the discordant moves would only lead to more bloodshed and destruction in the Islamic states which is not recommended by common sense.
Referring to common points between different Muslim sects, Makarem Shirazi said Muslims are all considered as one and should help each other whether it be in Lebanon or anywhere else in the Islamic states.
The grand ayatollah also urged the necessity of maintaining unity among Muslims and getting united against enemies.
