Government open to critical voices: VP
BUSHEHR, Jan. 14 (MNA) Iranian VP and head of Environmental Protection Organization has said the government is ready to hear disagreements, criticisms and comments provided by grassroots groups.
Speaking during an air tour over coastal and protected areas of Assalouyeh in southern province of Bushehr, Iranian VP and Head of Environmental Protection Organization Masoumeh Ebtekar stated that Assalouyeh was the country's energy hub playing a crucial role in the country's gas production.


Ebtekar emphasized the need for special attention to the environment in the various sectors, adding that environmental equation should apply to all development processes.


Pointing to the governments policy to hear opposing voices, criticisms and comments of popular groups, Ebtekar stressed, first we must admit that there are problems and then try to solve them.


Speaking to people of Assalouyeh, she conveyed the warm greetings of the president and announced his special emphasis on solving the city problems.


Pointing to the Unity Week, she called convergence and efforts by Sunni and Shia people in the region as a sample of unity in Islamic Iran.


The government has been trying to address the countrys acute problems such as inflation, recession and the lifting of the sanctions as well as environmental issues, Ebtekar noted.


Irans VP pointed to the cabinet directive on the restoration of Urmia Lake, dubbing it as an indicator of Presidents special attention for environmental issues.
