Tehran, Jan 20, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in separate meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Chief Executive of the National Unity Government (NUG) Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul Tuesday discussed bilateral and regional issues.
Zarif is on a one-day visit to Afghanistan as a gesture of Iran's support for Afghan political unity process. Upon arrival in Kabul, Zarif was welcomed by the caretaker of the Afghan foreign ministry, Atiqullah Atifmal.
Zarif and Abdullah attended a joint press conference after their meeting.
Zarif also met and conferred with Afghan permanent representative to the UN, Zahir Tanin, at Iran's Embassy in Kabul.
