MANAMA: Bahrain's Foreign Ministry last night denied claims by Iranian assistant foreign minister Hussein Ameer Abdullahyan during a Press conference in Moscow earlier yesterday that the kingdom has used poisonous gases during unrest.
The ministry expressed astonishment at the false allegations and said they aimed to cover up the catastrophic situation in Iran and suffering and deteriorating economic conditions endured by Iranian people. It stressed Bahrain's resolve to press ahead with the reform march led by His Majesty King Hamad since 2001, which has earned global recognition.
The ministry also reiterated its firm stance rejecting interference in the kingdom's affairs.
It called on Iranian government and officials to immediately stop such allegations and abide by diplomatic norms and principles of good neighbourliness.
