Iran wants to use contacts with the Eurasian Economic Union for its exports to Russia, Iran's ambassador said in Moscow.
MOSCOW, January 27 (Sputnik) Tehran expects tosign a contract or memorandum ofmutual understanding in2015 withthe Eurasian Economic Union tobegin exports toRussia, Iranian Ambassador toRussia Mehdi Sanaei told RIA Novosti inan interview Tuesday.
I think that in2015 we need towork onthis so that Iran has concrete economic contracts withthe EEUIran plans touse this opportunity forits exports toRussia and other [countries], Sanaei said.
Its possible that some sort ofcontract or memorandum onmutual understanding needs tobe signed, the ambassador added.
He said that currently there are high tariffs onIranian exports toRussia forgoods.
The ambassador also said that Moscow and Tehran had plans toswitch tojoint accounts using their national currencies.
In order todo this, meetings need tobe held betweenthe deputy heads ofthe Central Banks ofRussia and Iran. I hope this visit will happen soon, Sanaei said.
