Kampala, Feb 3, IRNA � Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, on an African tour, left Uganda for Burundi on Tuesday.
On the first leg of his African tour, Zarif visited Kenya and then Uganda, where he held separate talks with the country?s president and minister of state for foreign affairs, and met with Iranian merchants and expatriates living there.
Zarif visited the construction project of a medical center in Kampala sponsored by Iran?s Red Crescent Society.

On his visit to Bujumbura, Zarif is scheduled to hold talks with his Ugandan counterpart and other top-ranking officials of the country on issues of mutual interest, as well as the latest regional and international issues.

The Republic of Burundi s is landlocked country in Central Africa bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west.

After his visit to Burundi, the foreign minister is due to visit Tanzania before he winds up the African tour.
