Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA Prosecutor General Ebrahim Ra'isi said on Monday US administration's interference in internal affairs of Iran is both illegal and unjustifiable, adding that the US must immediately apologize to Iran.
Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ebrahim Ra'isi who was speaking on the sidelines of a Conference on Resistance Laws and Economy focusing on the US Department of States' recent press release on heads of the 2009 post-presidential election sedition said that Iran is a prestigious, powerful and independent country that stands on its own feet.
'36 years ago Iran proved its independence when the Iranian nation chanted the Neither East, Nor West slogan (in the course of the Islamic Revolution) and the US interference in Iran's internal affairs is therefore an illegal and unjustifiable interference, necessitating an immediate apology,' he said, speaking with a group of reporters.
Ra'isi expressed satisfaction with the Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham's Sunday condemnation of the US Department of State's recent press release, expressing delight that the Iranians recently in their nationwide rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution announced their stand on the issue.
