Turkey's minister: Turkey-Iran trade to reach 35 billion dollars in 2 years

Ankara, Feb 28, IRNA Turkey's Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said on Saturday that trade between Turkey and Iran will reach from the current 14 billion dollars level to dlrs 35 billion in two years.

He made the remarks at High Economic Meeting in presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul.


Zeybekci said that the two countries have signed preferential tariffs agreement to enhance trade which is in force since January 2015.

He said that by this agreement 265 items of goods are included in the preferential tariffs agreement.

He underlined that trade ties between Iran and Turkey would have a noticeable growth and border city of Van should get prepared for the high volume of trade.

Van is the only Turkey's province, which has two border points with Iran.

The Turkish minister also announced new agreement between Iran and Turkey concerning development of border terminal of Kapikoy Razi.
