ISIL terrorists operating in Iraq. (file photo)[/caption]The ISIL Takfiri militants may have committed all types of international crimes against humanity, including genocide in its brutal acts of violence and terrorism in Iraq, the United Nations human rights office says.
The Takfiri group "may have committed all three of the most serious international crimes -namely war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide," the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a report released on Thursday.
In the report, which draws on interviews with Iraqi people from June 2014 to February 2015, the rights agency says the crimes the Takfiri group has perpetrated in the Middle Eastern country includes killings, torture, forced religious conversions, rape, sexual slavery and the use of child soldiers.
The report further notes that the terrorists killed hundreds of Izadi men and boys in Iraqs Nineveh Province in August, 2014. It also notes that the women in the area were abducted as the "spoils of war."
In some instances, the report said, villages were entirely emptied of their Yezidi (Izadi) population.
The UN agency stresses that the types of the crimes the terrorist group has committed against Izadi religious minority in militancy-riddled northern Iraq pointed to the intent of ISIL to destroy the Yezidi as a group, adding this strongly suggests that ISIL may have committed genocide.
It additionally says that the Takfiri group has committed heinous crimes against other ethnic groups, including Christians, Kakae, Kurds, Sabea-Mandeans, Shia and Turkmen.
The report also highlights how cruelly the terrorist group has brutalized and massacred Iraqi forces.

ISIL started its campaign of terror in Iraq in early June 2014. The heavily armed militants took control of the countrys northern city of Mosul before sweeping through parts of the countrys Sunni Arab heartland.
Iraqi soldiers, police units, Kurdish forces, Shia volunteers and Sunni tribesmen have succeeded in driving the ISIL terrorists out of some areas in Iraq.
