Israeli government unanimously rejects Iran framework deal

On Thursday, Tehran and the P5+1 group of international mediators reached a breakthrough interim deal on the Iranian nuclear program in Lausanne, Switzerland.
TEL AVIV (Sputnik) The Israeli government unanimously rejected the Thursday framework nuclear deal reached betweenthe P5+1 and Tehran, ?abinet members said ina statement Friday.The P5+1 countries, comprising Russia, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, agreed withIran ona number ofkey issues that include uranium enrichment, the number ofcentrifuges and sanctions imposed onthe Islamic Republic.

"The cabinet is united instrongly opposing the proposed deal," Netanyahu said.

The prime minister said the deal would, againstinternational negotiators' belief, legitimize Iran's nuclear program, leaving the country witha vast nuclear infrastructure.

He added that the deal came atthe time when Iran was stepping upits "aggression and terror" inthe region and beyond.

A comprehensive deal onIran's nuclear program is expected bythe end ofJune.
