TEHRAN April 07(Shana)--Iran and Turkey are poised to raise the volume of their trade exchanges to $30 billion as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrives in Tehran on a state visit.
Erdogan arrived in Tehran on Tuesday and was welcomed by Minister of Information Technology and Communications Mahmoud Vaezi.
Erdogan is to meet with President Hassan Rouhani and other senior Iranian officials.
Iran and Turkey plan to sign memorandums for cooperation.
Iran-Turkey trade currently totals $15 billion which the officials hope to double.
Iran is the second largest supplier of gas to Turkey, after Russia.
