Exports of petrochemicals a necessity, industry official

TEHRAN April 08(Shana)--Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mojtaba Khosrotaj has said that enhancing interactions and cooperation between the ministries of industry and petroleum will pave the way for boosting exports of various petrochemical products.

Khosrotaj added: "We should step up efforts in order to accelerate non-oil exports and tackle stumbling blocks laying on the way of non-oil exports and specifically petrochemical products."
He also called on investors to move toward boosting investment in petrochemical projects which finally not only will meet domestic needs but will raise exports.

He noted that the government should create enough incentives for investors including creating a transparent environment and removing restrictions on the way of exports.
Giving more room to private sector and banking system will result in growing investment in petrochemical sector, he noted.

The government is determined to support production and ride the country out of recession in a non-inflationary way and I think we have a bright future ahead of the industrial sector, he concluded.
