TEHRAN April 12(Shana)--Abadan Oil Refining Company could produce more than 19 billion liters of oil products over the past Iranian calendar year to March 20 2015.
Managing director of Abadan Oil Refining Company Habibollah Abolhasani said the company refined 133.5 million barrels of crude oil last year converting them to more than 19 billion liters of oil products including gasoline, kerosene, gasoil, fuel oil and LPG.
Production of gasoline and gasoil stood at respectively 4.23 and 6.4 billion liters last year, while production of kerosene and fuel oil hit 718.3 and 7.04 billion liters, he said.
Jet fuel, pentane, various sorts of solvents, bitumen, oil and mulch were the other oil products Abadan Oil Refining Company produced last year.
As one of the oldest and largest oil refineries in the world, Abadan Oil Refinery was able to process 628 thousand barrels of oil per day before the start of Iran-Iraq war in 1980.
While foreign oil companies were in charge of the refinery before 1973 since then it has been running by NIOC.
