Iran attends expert meeting of Asia Africa Conference

Kuala Lumpur, April 19, IRNA The expert meeting of Asia Africa Conference opened in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Sunday with Iran participating in the session.




This meeting is a prelude to a conference to mark the 60th anniversary of Bandung Conference.

The Director General of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Department of the Environment and Sustainable Development is representing the country in the international gathering.

According to the Indonesian foreign ministry, 34 heads of states and heads of governments, as well as representatives from 77 countries have confirmed their attendance at the 60th anniversary of the Asia Africa Conference, set to be held in Jakarta and Bandung from April 19 to April 24.

Representatives of six international organizations, namely the African Union, the Arab League, ASEAN, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations, and the South Center, would also be present, the foreign ministry added.

The Asia Africa Conference 60th anniversary commemoration (AACC) events will also kick off on Sunday, with a meeting between high-level delegates in Jakarta, followed by ministerial meetings on Monday.
