AAC kicks off at ministerial level in Jakarta


JAKARTA, Apr. 20 (MNA) The Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) ministerial level meetings have kicked off today in Jakarta with the attendance of Irans deputy FM and ministers of 10 member countries.



Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpouris attending todays conference in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.


The representatives from Asia and Africa will discuss ways to further cooperation on promoting peace and prosperity across the globe.


During the five-day event, the Indonesian government will highlight the Palestinian cause during the 60th anniversary of the Bandung Conference and the 10th New Asian African Strategic Partnership (NAASP) to be organized in Jakarta and Bandung, on April 19-24, 2015.

The upcoming commemorative event is expected to yield three documents, including one dedicated to reiterate support for Palestines independence.
The two other documents will be a Bandung Message and one on the strengthening of NAASP.

Irans President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will be also attending the Bandung conference.

Some 32 world leaders are to attend the AAC Summit on April 22 and 23. The leaders who have confirmed their attendance include those from Iran, Brunei Darussalam, Jordan, Swaziland, China, North Korea, Madagascar, Malawi, Myanmar, Namibia, Sudan, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Gabon, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Singapore, and Thailand.
