Tehran, Pretoria eye restored energy ties

TEHRAN April 29(Shana)--The oil and energy ministers of Iran and South Africa met here in Tehran to discuss avenues for restoring pre-sanctions oil ties between the two countries.

Following the meeting Bijan Zangeneh said the oil ties between Iran and the African country will enhance once the sanctions are lifted.
"Both Iran and South Africa are keen on bolstering their relations in the energy sector," said Zangeneh after his meeting with Tina Joemat-Pettersson, the Minister of Energy of South Africa.
The two ministers met Tuesday night to explore avenues for furthering energy ties once the sanctions are lifted.

South African was a traditional customer of Iran's crude oil before 2012 sanctions. The country imported 60,000 barrels/day of Iranian crude oil until a month prior to the imposition of sanctions on Iran's oil sector.
