Tehran, May 6, IRNA Head of the Center for Strategic Research of the Expediency Council said Wednesday that although Western sanctions have caused some problems for Iran, Tehran is not ready to accept any excessive demands for lifting of sanctions.
Velayati made the remarks after a meeting with Indian Minister of Roads, Transportation and Shipping Nitin Gadkari.
He lashed out at the US Administration for providing support to the Saudi-led coalition committing crimes against humanity in Yemen and said that the Yemeni people have the right to elect their own president at the polling stations.
'The people of Yemen are innocent. They only don't want a president imposed on them by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council that has fled the country and lost his legitimacy,' Velayati said.
Velayati noted that the United Nations has to discharge its duty with regard to Saudi aggression on Yemen, a blatant violation of the charter of the United Nations.
Accusing the US government of supporting the oppressors in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, Velayati said they assumed that they can do the same in Iran, while they have repeatedly tried to do so and have seen that Iran will stand up to their excessive demands.
