Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a close ally of Riyadh.

In the latest airstrikes, at least four air raids hit different parts of the capital, Sanaa, as several attacks also targeted the city of Maarib in central Yemen.

Saudi fighter jets also bombarded two bridges in the Algha region in Amran province.

The Saudi airstrikes come as the UN is to host talks aimed at ending the crisis in Yemen in the Swiss city of Geneva on May 28.

On Wednesday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on all parties to take part in the talks without pre-conditions, stressing that Yemen's conflict can only be resolved through an "inclusive, negotiated political settlement."

The United Nations says, since March 19, over 1,800 people have been killed and 7,330 wounded as a result of the conflict in Yemen.
