TEHRAN May 25(Shana)--All six units of Ramin thermal power plant in Ahvaz are operational now, managing director of Kkozestan Districts Electricity Company Mahmoud Janghorban said.
He further said a number of units of the power plant were shut down last week either for overhaul or due to construction of a new gas pipeline for taking gas but all of them are now in the circuit.
He noted that the power plant is working with full capacity now and managed to generate 1.67 thousand megawatts of electricity on Sunday.
Janghorban stated that there are 11 power plants in Khuzestan province including 7 hydroelectric and 4 thermal and gas-burning power plants with generating capacity of 12 thousand megawatts per day.
He said electricity consumption hit 7 thousand megawatts and 3 megawatts during the peak days of winter and summer last year in Khozestan province.
Ramin power plant as the largest thermal power plant in the country has been operational since 1980.
